Just in case anyone missed the thread/messages. With the new Citrix CSP program, Citrix expects us to do 15% YOY growth into eternity. For example. If we sell 1000 seats year one. They are charging us for 1150 seats with their 15% overages. If in year one we only get to 1080 seats, in year two, Citrix will still require us to base our licenses on 1150, so 1322 licenses. Meaning we only have 1080 seats sold, yes Citrix wants to charge us for 1322. As a community we should not accept this.

I'm not reseller but that's racket, big NO

The entire license situation is bad for everyone. I can't see how anyone thought it would be good for business with these new models and restrictions/limitations.
c
I wish I could say I was surprised. Incredible.

I have sent a response email, in the tone you can imagine. I will report back their response.

As soon as we get the official offer for our CSP program, we will also ask once more about Year 2 and try to give feedback.
r
you should proactively tell him you heard in the community what I said, and tell him that will push you to AVD... That's basically what I said. The growth is unsustainable, and you'd be forcing us to move to AVD
don't let them test the waters with you and see how you react...

I don't have direct contact to Citrix. Our German Distributor is organizing everything and will present us an offer for our future business. He said it will take a few weeks to get our future pricing and I don't want to make trouble before I've heard anything at all from them. After all it's not their fault. Non the less, I will talk to my boss about your message, because in the end it's more his decision than mine.
r
That makes sense. We need to figure out how to get more CSPs involved, because this is utter BS
Met with my rep again. Year 2 has not been decided yet. I told them I needed concrete information on what year 2's basis would be (1080 vs 1150 from the above example. They are really just throwing shit at us to see what will stick. It's quite frustrating.
m
FYI we still haven’t received any pricing indications for year 1.
r
oof
m
We received our pricing and the number of seats we have to pay for year 1
It's ~0,50 Euro Cent more expensive than our current pricing, at least that's what my calculator says
The number of seats is reasonable, because we had some reporting errors in the past, that is now in our favor.
r
Did they tell you year 2? Did you pose the above question?
m
They suggested a meeting to explain the offer, but my boss is sick so there is no date for the meeting, yet. In the meeting, we will ask those questions.
r
sounds good, thank you. I still don't have confirmation. They are really dragging their knuckles.
