Ah... this is freakin hilarious:
"To increase collaboration and productivity, Cloud Software Group will transition all its employees to Microsoft 365. This will empower field teams with best-in-class productivity and AI tools to enable a new wave of joint go-to-market activities."
I called this two years ago when the decision was made to transition to G-Suite (because, Tibco).
"the collaboration will create deeper paths to modern procurement options through Azure Marketplace, where customers can easily evaluate, expand, or renew Citrix solutions."
Yeah... sure. Because that has worked so bloody well in the past. Read between the lines on this one; this will NOT give access to the full suite and I'm guessing will just be HDX+ which requires AAD exclusively I believe. I give this business line about $250,000 per year if they are lucky.
"Cloud Software Group’s engineering organizations are deploying GitHub Copilot to all their engineers with the goal of increasing developer productivity by over 20% — thus accelerating the pace of R&D across the organization."
Get those blog posts polished, ladies and gents - 'cause your work is about to be put into products!
Kidding of course - but this is kind of cool that for the first time, an alliance with M$ and CTX has implications for other CSG BU's. This is pretty positive, but does lock them into CoPilot. Smart move by M$.
Last thing:
"“Our strategic partnership with Cloud Software Group is built on a shared vision for customer success through cloud and AI technology adoption. Together, we will enhance the customer experience with integrated solutions and go-to-market support for its Citrix business unit,” said Judson Althoff, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Microsoft. “With Microsoft 365 as its collaboration platform and Microsoft Azure as its preferred cloud solution, Citrix is well positioned to deliver transformative solutions for our mutual customers at scale.”"
Okay - so if you read the article you may not have spotted a shocking lack of commitment from Microsoft. The commit is all on the CSG side.
M$ is just commenting on how Citrix will, I guess, improve their processes and product offering... NOT anything to do with sales.
Please catch that.
M$ will continue to de-emphasize Citrix as a solution - mark my words. They see Citrix as a consumer of their product, not an extremely needed enhancement to it.
