I'm curious what everyone's "EOL Philosophy" are. In your ideal world, when do you like to see your Operating System replaced. End of mainstream support? End of extended support? Something else? I would love to hear some of your ideas.

Usually end of mainstream support/maintenance.

Also depending if you want to take advantage of something new in a newer release.

Any other thoughts? Thanks Jarian.

We aim with end of extended support but with what happened between W16 and Teams 2.0, it's a tricky game to play. So I would say after end of support, get the budget ready to move to the next OS in the coming years. Coming years depending really on how you are being force to migrate!

For hardware, EOL is basically EOS. For software, I will usually tell people you aren't going to EOS from the vendor, as other apps will stop working well with it well before you get to that date. Just take the time and upgrade it.

Waiting until end of extended support is a great way to miss your upgrade deadline
