Just saw this post and wonder what the future holds now for Horizon. πŸ˜Άβ€πŸŒ«οΈ https://www.reuters.com/technology/broadcom-nears-38-bln-sale-remote-access-unit-kkr-2024-02-24/

I can't give you the roadmap but there are a lot of developments in stock.. we can't wait to be out of the door as EUC.. if that is with KKR, I have no clue. We read the same news you all do.
r
r
VMUG? that is VMware πŸ˜‰

It's interesting for sure as this private equity group is same one that through other purchases owns parallels. But yeah won't be anymore 'VMware' EUC... That we know. Ha
r
I knew that a while back πŸ˜‰
o
We all did
r
We are not VMware since the day Braodcom bought VMware.. we split off and were EUC div under broadcom.. VMware is the part that was acquired by Broadcom,
o
I was referring to the vmug situation
And yes I am very familiar with all of this .
r
good
j
So both WS1 and WS1 UEM both go to KKR right?
r
Everything EUC.
And we will announce our new name soon (I have no idea on time line).

cool thanks. Biggest question for anybody coming from vmware will be now unlocking Horizon from VMware as it will be nutz to still keep it there with what Broadcom is doing. I would have to believe that they will want to quickly unlock it from VMware hypervisor and open it up. Then how pricing, packaging and all that will look. We are just starting our partner journey with Parallels now so very interested in how this plays out with this other solution; whatever it ends up looking like, but lock in to vmware is a no-go for sure.
r
@Oz Zy I'm now imagining the chimera of Horizon+XenServer....
r
haha @Rachel Berry that would be a statement ... I love all the amazing thoughts online, we got the popcorn on the desk these days πŸ˜‰ LOL
