I understood points 1 and 2. What is the 3rd point used for?

If you are using ADM in citrix cloud you use either the ADM Agent or the built in agent on your ADC's
r
This is how I did it. Just change the Hypervisor instance for the appliance you need on-prem to make the connection. https://blogs.mycugc.org/2023/03/14/netscaler-adm-service/
c
Thanks @Ray Davis Thats exactly how we did it as of today. @c4rm0 if I want to use the built in agent, what is the process? I only see option to enable a check mark in citrix service connect option in ADC.
r
During the time of that blog, I was unable to get the Built in ADM agent to work right. Now, that was 1 year ago, or more. So def try that way for the fastest.

i m looking for the technical steps on configuring inbuilt ADM service on the ADC. But it looks like it sends telemetry and usage data to Citrix Thats all. It doesn't show any options to specify licenses etc..
c
tbh i have always used the ADM agent but from memory you enable the ADM connect feature in the GUI then in something like /var/mastools on ADC there is a .sh file you run that you enter the codes you get when onboarding the ADM instance
c
its that one i think you run it with the activation service url / code you get when onboarding
c
That is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks @c4rm0 and @Steve Noel. I ll give it a try. Which option do you think is best? Setting up an adm agent VM or using this inbuilt agent?
c
i always use the ADM agent rather than the built in agent on ADC as i had few weird issue in past with the built in agent on the ADC's but that was a while ago and they probaly sorted it in newer firmware

no ADM Service for me, if you do pick the built in agent, def let us know how it goes, curious to see if there's a big difference in CPU/Throughput
c
Sure
