I'm struggling to understand the value of different Slack groups to discuss the same/similar things. Why not just have the one Slack group? For me, this is the primary group? I guess it's political :-)

At first it was discussed to have CUGC here but then after discussions was decided to keep separate and bridge them for Citrix focused channels. The plan was to bridge more channels but then the CUGC changes happened.

Understood. The keeping separate thing is all political and about control, which may not really be focused on what's best for the community. Having to jump between Slacks for the same/similar info is not really being respectful of our time and creates inconsistent forum Q&A. It doesn't really make a lot of sense to keep the CUGC one running.

As an admin on the CUGC side, it was 100% about control of the local groups sub channels. We had >70 channels, one for each local group. Managing the viz/permissions on that was something HQ wanted to keep "in house". The hope was for the community support sync'd channels, users would have been able to access where ever/when ever...but for the group specific stuff they'd have to go where they had local group permissions.
