How many CPUs on the file server? What type of disk are the ODFC containers sitting on?
c
4 cpus on file server. Dell powerstore flash storage.
a
And 10G network b/w the RDS hosts and the file server?
I don’t know anything about the Dell storage, but I can only assume it’s providing enough IO. I would up the number of cores on the file server to at least 8 and check utilisation during logons.
c
yeah, i think it cant do any harm. Its a strange one. Stinks of AV but i think we are covered there. Copying data between the rdsh and the ODFC drive o nthe file server shows fast speeds and no issue. Seems to be only FSL based actions.
j
Smells horribly like AV
j
Uninstall the AV as a test, so many times exclusions are set but not respected.
c
This one looks like it was AV, ripped it out and environment running stable for a number of days. Exclusions were put in but not being honored. The solution is Webroot, had a call with their support team and they are saying that they dont support the file exclusions. Awaiting confirmation, madness if true, avoid.
j
That name is a blast from the past, had completely forgotten about that solution even being a thing
c
Sorry to bring back any potential ptsd.
j
AV = consistent trauma for all of us globally
j
Clearly there is no good AV
