I was just working on this last night
How to use Acrobat 64-bit in read-only mode. If you need to run Acrobat in reader mode without users being required to log in, make the following registry changes: 1. Open the Windows registry. 2. Navigate to the following location: 3. Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown 4. Add the following string value: a. “bIsSCReducedModeEnforcedEx”=dword:00000001 5. Create the following key: 6. cIPM 7. Then add the following string value under this key: a. “bDontShowMsgWhenViewingDoc”=dword:00000000 The above registry entries ensure that Acrobat will run on a Windows 64-bit machine as Adobe Reader. Also, Adobe Reader will run without advertisements.
after installing acrobat, add these reg keys, which will allow users that do no have a license, to use acrobat in "read Only" mode

the issue we had was it doesn’t seem to install the full version machine wide, it wants to pull it down on sign in, so I guess it’s not the enterprise installer
or we’re not using the right install options
j
ok so you do you have an active acrobat subscription?
m
the client does, I don’t know that the test user they gave me does
j
ok no prob. so you have to login to the customers adobe admin console and create an acrobat package
once you install that, it will install the full version of Acrobat, but requires you to login
m
ah, I thought we might have to do a custom package
ok, thanks
j
yep, then after you install that package you can add these reg keys.
the package isnt anything special, just asks for locale, and update preferences
m
nice, this seems to be exactly what I need, thank you!
j
you bet

No need to log into the portal, just download via Evergreen. He's the proper way with MST

I tried neverred and it didn’t load the full thing, it wants to pull it down every login
I’ll look at that one

I'm fighting that battle too - seems a few of our users had gotten so used to Adobe Pro (which we had running in an ancient version that didn't check for Adobe ID until recently) that Acrobat - or how about you edit your master document in Word and save as PDF like a normal person? - isn't good enough. Will give the suggestions here a good look, thanks.
