10/10/2023, 1:51 AMbiggest thing is always permissions, if you have full sysadmin rights then you can drive the bus a bit more from the WEM console, else follow the yellow brick road

10/10/2023, 1:43 PMit was tricky from memory as you have a SQL SA account called vuemuser that WEM uses and if you set it up as a new SQL login on the new SQL server it gets a new SID and wont work so i can remember using a SQL script which copied over the SQL login/password and retaining the SID

10/10/2023, 2:24 PMthe CTX article that james posted is the exact same thing i did you have to set a password for the SA account vuemuser , copy and restore the WEM DB, run a SQL query against the DB to setup a SQL login for the VUEM SA user using the password you set. That CTX article didn't exist when i did it so i used the DBA tools script to copy over the VUEMUser SQL login it would acheive the exact same result

10/11/2023, 3:47 AMIt cares about the sid and the password if you are restoring the same DB. Use the Ms command to transfer the SQL login is your safest bet
