Interesting. I may have to check this one out. I've been using DisplayFusion. https://www.displayfusion.com/ It supports splitting my 4k monitor into 4 1080p monitors and handles the taskbar way better in a multi-monitor setup. If anyone is interested in purchasing it, you can get it on Steam so you don't have to worry about managing the license.
So as an example when splitting into 4 displays windows wants to throw the taskbar of the top displays right in the middle of the screen. They kinda get in the way. With this I'm able to set the bottom "monitor" taskbar on bottom and the top "monitor" taskbar on top keeping them all around the edges.
a
Interesting. I'm using Microsoft PowerToys FancyZones and it seems to have similar functionality.

I was gonna say, this looks like what FancyZones does (for free).

Splitting the display, sure. Taskbar position per-monitor, no. I can't stand having my apps not show on the taskbar of the "monitor" that the app is on. You have an app open on the top right and to flip to it you have to find it on the taskbar at the bottom left? Nope. When windows does taskbars per-monitor natively you get the nasty taskbar right in the middle of the screen.
a
I'm still on Win10, so I'm getting a task bar on every monitor with my apps when using FancyZones.
l
But doesn't that show the taskbar on bottom of all "monitors"?
a
Yes. I can't control where the taskbar goes per monitor. It can be top, bottom, left, or right. The only other option is with mutli-monitor (built-in to Taskbar settings). You can change how Apps are displayed in the task bar. All apps or just which monitor they are open on.
l
Yeah, kinda my point. When Windows manages the taskbar you get one on bottom cluttered with apps from all over or one taskbar per monitor but on bottom of each with the top ones right in the middle of the screen and in the way.
a
I see your point. Fancy zones will just allow you to configure how app windows appear. You can't create "virtual monitors" which seems like Display Fusion and iShadow do.
