https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/tech-zone/build/deployment-guides/microsoft-365-citrix.html We cache up to 3 months of data (configured via GPO) to control OST size.

it's not so much the network tax, its the latency between outlook and EXO that is the challenge - some environments can get away with it but not many. The more you can get users across to the web apps, particularly for mail, the better - not as big a jump as you think unless there are plugins for outlook

Thanks Nick. That's what I have for a mini pilot but .ost bring his problems, the search is not as good as online, I don't roam the search index and also there is a limit of 500 folders in offline mode. Thanks James. Latency can kill the user experience indeed, everything will be proxied and Firewall, standard enterprise setup so during the logon storm the network device will be hit pretty badly I would say but we can try and let the teams that it is coming. I would very surprise we can get away as it's internet not Express gatway. Good suggestion for the web version but we have custom integration into Outlook for our business apps, it's not an option! Cheers and thanks again lads

Proxying anything O365 is going to be a nightmare - no matter what you want to try and lay the groundwork early that all of that traffic needs to bypass the proxy - there is many an article to support that ask and almost anyone who ignores it, gets their butts handed to them 🤦‍♂️
Search index roaming is really important for offline mode too - without that the user experience is awful
j
Thanks James, it's going to be very tricky to bypass the proxy but I'll flag this! Thanks.. We use UPM at the moment so it may a challenge to roam it, I'll have to check if I can roam it as part of the Office 365 container. Cheers James
j
You can definitely roam it with UPM containers - will make a world of difference for your users 💪
