Just create local shares in each region then use a file sync utility or robocopy script to copy the elastic layering share from the one managed by the app layering appliance. You then use a reg key on the vdas to define the layer repository. When setting this up make sure you never point multiple appliances to the dame share. Let me get you a link the the ref arch for app layering that will give you the reg key.

Thanks Rob. The availability and DR guidance will help them distribute the images. This is where we were headed so it’s good to have it confirmed in the documentation.

As far as images, can use replication of published image pushed from central ELM location. Some hypervisor have this built in and some will have to do this at storage level. You can also automate some of this with connector scripts. For example had a Nutanix customer who had a central ELM and used protection domains to replicate the image to other sites. Used connector scripts to automatically replicate the image every time it was published.

Good luck. Your new direction is much easier to manage though it does require a lot of bandwidth between regions.
