So vTPM is a VM construct while you could use the physical TPM chips to secure your hosts or to do passthrough for specific use cases

So then, is vTPM generally accepted as the recommended path for a vdi deployment?

Absolutely, in our lab env we don’t have physical TPMs yet we’ve tested the 💩 out of vTPM (Disclaimer: I work for Nutanix and lead the EUC Solutions team)

Are you aware of limitations of utilizing the physical tpm chips (in passthrough or otherwise) ? This seems to be a case where documentation regarding decision influencing information is sparse. I appreciate your responses.
