is there a way to migrate the app settings over?
d
Would say it depends on the apps and the settings. Some things are easy, like Outlook signatures are just file copies to the same location. Others are buried in the registry and much more difficult to transfer over.

I have used VMWare UEV for this function.
Or whatever it's called now.

thanks guys. i am trying to get them to start brand new, most of my clients go for that. however, this is one of my tougher clients. aw, if you think of anything else let me know. thx

UEV works great and does about everything you want it to do with profile migrations between different OSes

@Ryan Gallier i think i would have to pay for that, and @Dennis Parker brought up a good point. migrations from earlier versions is not supported as per MS - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/user-profiles-and-logon/roaming-user-profiles-versioning
r
No, that's the whole point. Migrations of PROFILES are not supported. What that product does is simply save the application information and migrate it between the profile versions, and yes, it costs money.

ok, thanks
