And does the error stop when you take FSLogix out of the mix?
c
Yes, without FSLogix it works well.
p
I haven't seen this before in any of our environments running edge. Do you have any Edge folders set up in the redirections.xml file?
c
I have nothing related to edge on the redirection.xml. I guess it could come from the version of Edge or Windows.
b
Edge as an AppX Package or MSI Installer?
c
I have the Appx package of Edge. Could the MSI installer be more suited for fslogix ?
b
I would consider MSI Installer generally more stable and suitable for every managed environment.
j
Seconded - I've never tried managing persisting UWP apps via FSLogix and don't like to try. I remove as many of them from the image as possible.
b
quote of a ControlUp Employee at VMware Explore: I hate AppX Packages 😂
c
I didn't know Microsoft had a MSI version of Edge. I'll install it to see if it correct my issue. Everytime I had an issue between fslogix and a software it was always an AppX one, fslogix really don't like them 🙂
m
I thought AppX on RDSH was far from production ready?
g
I generally remove all AppX/UWP apps with CItrix Optimizer to avoid any issues. Very few users miss them, and there are good alternatives to the few applications that need. Calculator, Paint etc.
The only "issue" with Citrix Optimizer now, is that it disables the disk defrag service by default, and that is needed by the disk compacting function in Fslogis appearantly... if you are brave enough to enable it, that is. 😛
m
That’s not true anymore. There was an update to Citrix Optimizer in January, that doesn’t deactivate disk defragmentation service anymore for that specific reason.

@Marco Hofmann Ok, didn't know that. We haven't updated Optmizer after we updated to Windows build 21H2 a while a go. There hasn't been any need to update so far. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
