@Tim Wow! This game making session with Bryan Winter of the family friend game store (people play, have tournaments, and buy games) “I’m Board” mentioned a lot of helpful advice for game creators. I learned about the spine, color, etc. He talks about the success of Sushi Go and another card game called Sleeping Queens too and the size of their box or container. He says not to make them small. He says that design matters a lot and shouldn’t look bad. Things should have color. Someone should want to pick up your game in a sea of other games even if all they see is the spine of the box. The logo needs to be on the spine of the box. Your game should be able to be described how to play it in a few steps for someone guessing by the back and maybe the sides.
