I've created a thread for those interested in following my planning to CG26. I thrive on planning "epic" journeys across the globe. Those who know me, know I'm a prolific traveller (currently on 95 countries) both in the UK and overseas. Green Track will involve me travelling 98% by train, 2% will be buses as the time I'm planning to set off on Monday morning, no trains/underground are running. I'm estimating, if the journey goes well, it'll take me 22 ish hours from Home to Copenhagen Central.

At this stage of planning, train tickets will be at the highest pricing, a way around this ... Interrail Global Pass, I've bought a 4 day in 30 days flexipass. Unfortunately no Standard class seats are available to reserve, so I've had to get the First class pass. At least I'll have some comfort on this long journey.

There's a bus where you live at 2 in the morning !!

it's hourly between 00:20 until 03:20, then it's every 30 minutes until 6, then every 15 min after that. It's not my main bus stop but it's the one with 24/7 buses. Reading Buses are IMHO one of the best in the UK. It's handy if I miss the last connecting train at Reading.

Hey, I'm following the 'Green Track' too, travelling from Manchester. Very impressed you're doing it in one day, I've had to break it up over a few!

I did the leg to Brussels today, then I'll do Brussels to Copenhagen on Monday. Think I'm following the same route as you through Germany but earlier in the morning!

nice and leisurely, I bought an Interrail 1st class pass, as it was cheaper than seperate tickets

I got an interrail pass too, though I didn't spring for 1st class!
Ended up way cheaper!

I had to get the 1st class because all seats in standard class were booked. Instead of paying £165 for a ticket, it would be cheaper to pay for the upgrade.
My journey so far: Leg 1 - Decided to get an extra hour in bed and took a taxi at 0320 to Reading Leg 2 - 0354 Reading to Paddington, train on time. Still on Leg 5, arrived at Aachen the penultimate stop, line is currently shut due to signal problems 😨 I have contingency service to get back on schedule which increases my transfer time of 116 minutes.
Leg 7 of 8, Hamburg to Copenhagen. Leg 3 - Osnabrück Hbf to Amsterdam, the internet is fast for public transport, best I've experienced in Europe. Leg 5 - Breda to Brussels Zuid/Midi/South. On time so far
Leg 6 - Brussels Midi to London St Pancras, so far so good. Took me just 20 minutes to clear security, EU immigration and UK border force.
