06/02/2026, 5:47 PMworksheetId: "auto_mode" is a valid way to enable Spotter Auto mode (as an embed config setting).
2. HostEvent.ResetSpotterConversation is a supported host event to reset a Spotter conversation.
What I could not find in the official docs is a documented/guaranteed pattern saying you should fire HostEvent.UpdateEmbedParams with { worksheetId: "auto_mode" } specifically on EmbedEvent.SpotterLoadComplete (or immediately after reset) as a stable contract. So yes—this is likely in “works now, might break later” territory unless TS confirms it.
If you need stability, prefer:
- Set worksheetId: "auto_mode" at Spotter embed initialization.
- Use HostEvent.ResetSpotterConversation only for reset behavior.
- Recreate/remount the embed with desired params when you must force a mode change deterministically.
Suggestions:
- If you must ship the workaround, gate it behind a feature flag and log failures/timeouts around trigger calls.
- Pin SDK version while using this pattern, and test against each SDK/cluster upgrade.
- Ask ThoughtSpot Support/PM for explicit confirmation on whether UpdateEmbedParams + Spotter lifecycle events is a supported contract for Spotter mode switching.
