Pivot cell click event not available in embedded? ...

Hey folks 👋 I’m working on an embedded ThoughtSpot use case and hit a limitation with Pivot (100k row cap). What I’m trying to do: * Liveboard with 2 viz side-by-side * Pivot (for hierarchical exploration) * Table (for detailed data beyond 100k rows) Expected flow: 1. User expands levels in pivot 2. User clicks a specific cell/row 3. In embedded React, capture that click + context 4. Update the table viz dynamically based on selection Problem: *
vizPointClick
is NOT triggered for pivot cell clicks * Only
mouseDown
event fires *
mouseDown
has no useful context (no row/column data) Question: Is there any supported way to: * Capture pivot cell click with context (row/column values)? * Or link pivot interaction to another viz in embedded? Tried listening to all events but no luck so far. Any guidance or workaround would really help 🙏

Short answer: there is no dedicated “pivot-cell-click” embed event in the Visual Embed SDK docs I could find. For your master-detail pattern, the documented event to use is: -
EmbedEvent.VizPointClick
(also
VizPointDoubleClick
/
VizPointRightClick
as needed) This event is documented for clicks on a visualization in Liveboard/Search and returns clicked point metadata (
clickedPoint
, etc.), which is the supported path to derive selected attribute/measure values and drive detail filtering/navigation. A practical pattern is: 1. Listen to
EmbedEvent.VizPointClick
2. Parse
payload.data.clickedPoint
for selected attributes/measures 3. Apply detail filters via
HostEvent.UpdateRuntimeFilters
(the docs explicitly describe this combination for selection-driven filtering) So if by “pivot cell click” you mean intercepting an individual pivot/table cell interaction, use
VizPointClick
as the closest supported event surface. I could not find a separate pivot-specific cell event in the official docs.

@Thangaraj let us know if the above approach works.

@Swarnika Thanks for the response. I had already tried this approach before posting here, but it didn’t work. It seems that vizpointclick doesn’t function with pivot tables. In the same live board, it works fine for regular tables and returns the selected cell information. However, for pivot tables, the only event that gets triggered is mousedown, and it doesn’t provide any useful context—the value comes back as undefined.

Hey @Thangaraj this might not be handled for pivot table and new charts- can you raise a support ticket for this? Thanks
t
@yuichirio_ha yes. Raised already. Thank you.
