Hi team,

Hi team, Currently, SearchViewConfig supports hideSearchBar and hideDataSources but AppViewConfig doesn't support it. Is there a reason for this?

Great question — and yes, this is expected based on how the two embed types are scoped.
hideSearchBar
and
hideDataSources
are documented under
SearchViewConfig
and are supported for
SearchEmbed
only.
AppEmbed
uses
AppViewConfig
, which has a different set of controls (for app-level navigation/home experience), such as
hideApplicationSwitcher
,
hideObjectSearch
,
hideHamburger
, and
homePageSearchBarMode
. So the short reason is: these configs target different surfaces. - SearchEmbed (
SearchViewConfig
)
= dedicated Search page controls (including search bar + data panel behavior). - AppEmbed (
AppViewConfig
)
= full-app shell controls (navigation/home/object search), not the embedded Search page’s internal panels in the same way. In other words, it’s not an omission so much as a product boundary in config design. If you need strict Search UI control (hide search bar/data sources), use `SearchEmbed`; if you need full app navigation and app context, use
AppEmbed
and the properties available there.

Hi @Suvash AppViewConfig may not support all features that are specific to an embed or a particular view.
Since its focus is broader at the app level, if you need this capability, you can raise a feature request.
