Hello Team! Can any one share their Maternity Benefit Policy with me? Are employees allowed to club their casual leaves with Maternity leaves ? Also when when calculating LWP - are weekends and public holidays also included or excluded?

Yes they can club their casual / Earned leaves along with the Maternity leaves.

They can club their leaves with maternity leaves. Sandwiching weekends and PH for LWP, is a company decision. As a best practice, these are not.

Hi Namrata, in case you are trying to formulate Maternity Benefit policy for Employees in India, then you must refer to the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017.

@Rashmi R to add to above is there anymore changes to this act post 2017. And where can we look up the latest circulars/notifications Also, would it be employer discretion on the leaves are considered. If contractual employee / FTC
