not related to compensation & benefits. How would you deal with a candidate whom you suspect got his assignment done by someone else? I hired a graphic designer recently, her work in the assignment vs what she makes in the job is drastically different. How would you deal with such a scenario since there is no way to prove that someone else made the assignment & how can this be avoided in future?

@Rohan @Karthik I can you answer this?

If there is a gap in what the task was and the current deliverables it's always good to have the performance checked. Connect with a senior person in the same job role and ask to document the misses. Communicate the same with the concerned employee and discuss expectations vs deliverables. If still not improved put on a performance enhancement plan with clear outcomes of the program and the expected level of performance to be achieved after the program ends. Do a review if not improved and work is not according to the initial assignment have a discussion and let go of the employee.
