Hello! Could you help me understand one aspect of your leave policy? Is it on a pro rata basis or do you credit all the leaves start of the year or do you have a mix of both?

We have a mix of both, for interns we do it on a pro rata basis for FTEs we give the credit adjusted according to their date of joining

At one of my previous org, we used to credit year's worth quota at the start of the cycle itself. Only rider, leave balance shall not fall below 50% before 30 June. Generally, I have seen orgs add leaves pro-rata on monthly or quarterly basis acc to DOJ or cycle.

con of giving all in the beginning is the person can use all and then leave the company which can be handled in F&F so actually no con 🙂

@Kartik Mandaville yes and it has advantages as well. We found people to be better at planning their leaves throughout the year. The risk was from a smaller group of people who may misuse the flexibility but the comfort and flexibility to the bigger group outweighed the risk of the smaller subset.

We used to add twice a year once in Jan and once in June.
