I would definitely love to know about the HR budgeting & manpower planning. I have joined a startup with a headcount of around 90 folks and looking forward to revamping & streamlining the HR processes.

sure @[TSOW] Priya Bhatt. @Omkar Pradhan: Hello Sir! I would be keen to know the framework of HR budgeting, the key parameters to take into account while doing/starting this activity, what should be the %age that should be considered for Rewards. The organisation size is currently 90 odd folks. Also, what changes did you essentially make while revamping the comp structure. Mine is a deep tech organization wherein employees have hefty CTCs so if could share a few insights on this, it would be a great help!

@Reeya Bali - HR Budgeting Essentially is a top down approach Wherein you Have Scope out Budget at an Annual Level & then you break it down in Quarterly or Monthly Level (As per the need Or as suggested by Management) & this is specifically for Running HR Initiatives - It can be Around Hiring, Rewards & Recognition, Employee Engagement & Other HR Initiatives) - In this Ensure you include everything right from Subscription Cost of Portals, HR Tools that may be needed, And other costs you may forsee - You'll have to always Account of 15-20% Adhoc Expenses that may be required to fetched from this HR Budget, - How Much Budget should you consider for Rewards is very Subjective Aspect - It totally depends upon the R&R Framework that you at the Organization - But Superficially at 90 ppl Org - You may need a Budget of Say 2.5-3.5 L/Annum - Considering you have R&R Every month & Employees are rewarded something monetarily or otherwise With Regards to Compensation Structure - We essentially made it more tax friendly by introducing tax saving component's (In the Form of Meal Coupons,Car Perquisite,Telephone & Internet Reimbursement, Attire Allowance) which allowed employees falling in. the 20% & 30% Tax Bracket save on taxation along Voluntary Provident Fund Option - Incase anyone wants to contribute more towards PF (Since in that Organisation PF was deducted only 1800)
