Hey hey! Founding People Ops team member / first time leading the charge 👋 My company is switching from an EOR to a PEO and since it's my first time selecting coverage I would reeeaally appreciate some HR advice on the following q's • What are companies offering for short term & long term life? Is there a basic standard that we agree is 'good'? I don't know where to start • Is anyone not Safe Harbor compliant? We are trying to match our 401k with the pension scheme we offer our employees overseas but if we match we won't meet the required percentage to qualify for Safe Harbor so I'm trying to gauge if this is something I should push for • For voluntary plans like Critical Illness, Accident Coverage, Hospital Indemnity, etc, is it standard to opt for the employee to pay for those plans in full or do most companies also contribute?

@Jennifer Manon would you be able to help?

Hi, @Camilla Santos ! My suggestion would be to arm yourself with some benchmarking surveys like: https://www.shrm.org/hr-today/trends-and-forecasting/research-and-surveys/pages/employee-benefits-survey.aspx https://www.getbenepass.com/blog/benefits-101-a-guide-to-employee-benefits-benchmarking-tips-from-hr-leaders#:~:text=Employee%20benefits%20benchmarking%20is%20an,results%20to%20your%20specific%20needs. https://www.thanksben.com/benefits-benchmarking https://www.cbiz.com/employee-benefits-benchmark-report Especially if you can find data sources that are related to your region, industry, organization size, etc. You can also find resources on Safe Harbor requirements to help you determine what would work best for your organization, like: https://www.guideline.com/blog/safe-harbor-small-business-401k-data/ Voluntary plans are usually employee-covered. But beyond what's standard, it's also important that you understand what will have most impact for your audience. Have you done any employee survey to understand what your team wants/expects as regards benefits?
