Thanks for asking Albus
I found a resource that contains 300+ ready-to-use HR documents, including various policies. You can refer to this HR Toolkit to find a suitable template or example for drafting your Sandwich policy: https://www.springworks.in/hr-toolkit/ However, I couldn't find a specific Sandwich policy document in the provided sources. If you need further assistance, please let me know.

What's a sandwich policy?
e
yeah me also Im curious what's a sandwich policy?
w
As per my understanding, it means the policy which defines whether the weekends that fall between leaves are counted or not counted as leaves. I wait for Nidhi’s clarity.

Sandwich leave policy means the weekend that fall between the leaves afre calculated as leave.Ex: Friday and Monday leave will be counted as 4 days leave.

That’s what my understanding is too @Jigyasa. Let’s see what Nidhi needs assistance in. 🙂

Yes, the sandwich leave policy means that if the weekend falls between Friday and Monday leave it will be calculated as Leaves. We are introducing this policy in our company

Is there a reason for doing this, @Nidhi Sharma? As an employee, I'd hate for this to happen because the weekend is something I'm entitled to anyway, irrespective of the leave. Also, instead of taking Friday and Monday off, wouldn't it make sense for a person to take Mon & Tue off (or Thu and Fri)? How would that benefit the organization?

Yes, they are taking long leaves, we will be using this policy in the case of long leaves i.e if more than one weekend is included in the leaves we will mark the 2nd weekend and onwards as leaves
w
@Nidhi Sharma I understand that some organisations are using this approach. However, most of them have either moved on or are moving towards the new and more acceptable approach of not counting weekends/public holidays as a part of leaves. It increases the employee morale, results into happy employees & better productivity, hikes employer brand in the market. The Sandwich policy demotivates the employee, also resulting into more working days taken as leaves impacting the business. A suggestion would be to see all sides prior to bringing in the Policy. For drafting, I will be glad to assist.

100℅ agree with @Wristy. Employees have the right to feel disgruntled (and rightfully so) if such a policy is in place.
