Has anyone integrated Sodexo? 1. How does it work like you add as FBP Meal allowance and deduct the same or? 2. Have you tried Zaggle? 3. Is there any good alternative to Sodexo?

@Jisha Abraham yes we deduct 2200 per month from the gross salary of the employees & same is added to Sodexo Meal card .

We have recently introduced ICICI multi wallet card for meal allowance. We deduct 2200 per month from the employees and same is added in the card. The benefit of this card is that has 6-7 different wallet in it like meal allowance, fuel allowance etc and same can be used in future in case we want to include other tax benefits. The disadvantage of this card is that it cannot be used with UPI scanners. Otherwise works for all online platforms, grocery stores, restaurants etc.

@Intequab Khan what about the income tax compliances of ensuring the meal card is not used for any other purposes?

@Suchit Patel normally these kind of bifurcation can work with the POS when they swipe the card - every establishment be it a restaurant or a petrol pump if have a card swiping machine the card will know you spent it on fuel/food. I think the card remains the same if I am not wrong it just depends on the company and the wallet balance of how many allowances are you allowing to the employees.

@Suchit Patel this is exactly correct as explained by @Rohan Mankad, every business will have their POS machine as per their background. For example - all POS machines with restaurants, grocery stores etc will have it registered to a merchant code linked to "Food Services" and the card will automatically check and deduct the amount from specific wallet, same for Fuel, gifts etc. Another advantage of going with a card from bank is that they are highly compliant with all the govt and RBI related norms. We even have our salary accounts with ICICI so no KYC process was required for all the employees.

Great, thanks Intequab. The reason I asked was we have seen some faulters here in one of the cards, no sure which one, but I think it was Zeta, where they were able to use for clothing. So wanted to double check on it.
