Hi all, could anyone please confirm if we still need to collect personal documents like PAN, Aadhar , passport, educational certificates, past employers certificates while onboarding a new hire. Is this required by law?

@Virti Porwal The documents collected during the new hire joining have significance under different buckets, for example, • PAN & Aadhaar are required for financial payments, compliances, etc., • Passport confirms the nationality of the new hire which impact the salary structure & compliances (such as PF), • Past employer experience certificate confirms that the new hire is under no liability from the previous employer, • Educational certificates confirm that against what qualifications mentioned in the JD the new hire has been selected are correct.
