New post fresh out of the oven https://tfos.co/p/be-indulgent/
currently getting sucked down the rabbit hole of "should I go to grad school" again, which I generally have made a point of resisting. At the end of the day I think I just need to see if there are any specific phd advisors I might like to work with, then talk to them. Ethan Zuckerman looks relevant, specifically wrt the institute for digital public infrastructure that he founded recently: https://ethanzuckerman.com/projects/. (He's also written some things that I've read and was interested in; planning to do more of a deep dive on his writings soon)
well I think I've come to my senses and once again decided that grad school is definitely not for me. However, I have started thinking: maybe I should dedicate some time to seeking out, reading up on, and possibly contributing to other people's projects, instead of exclusively working on my own. e.g. starting with this site: https://publicinfrastructure.org/. I've added a bunch of stuff from there to my reading list.
