I am looking for devtest k8s solutions (thread)
• local dev k8s env - preferably 2 worker nodes (used KIND and MiniKube, but these are default 1-node solutions)
• BYIK self hosted - e.g. rke2, microK8s, k3s, Kubespray, kubeadm
• Manging VMs (like opensource free vmware) - e.g. proxmox, oVirt, MicroCloud? (openstack looks too complex)


Someone mentioned Orbstack (<https://orbstack.dev/>).  This looks like a local desktop VM solution.

I mentioend RKE2 (<https://docs.rke2.io/>).  When I did this at Dgraph, we had problems with no log rotation, the logs filled up the disks.

Another mentioend Talos Linux (<https://github.com/siderolabs/talos>), which looks like a Kubernetes ready Linux? Does Sidero have a Kubernetes installer/manager on top of this?

Another mentioend ProxMox (<https://www.proxmox.com>).  I have not played with this yet.  XDA uses a lot for their homelab tutorials.

Talos and proxmox combo is for using full VMs running multi-node kubernetes  in production (bare metal)  like environment
