With the recent shift toward native CI, and the deprecation of the GHAs (🥳 ) what's the current guidance for drift detection w/ native CI?

Our original approach with the github actoins was to open a GitHub issue that tracked the drift, then close it when it resolved.
I think it was an elegant approach based on what we had available to us at the time.
The problem is, for our customers, they kept hitting rate limits.
Introduce a change that created drift: maybe a hundred issues would get created.
Merge a fix that resolves drift for all those components: again, hit rate limits to close those issues.
And since the life cycle is within a single workflow run, there's really no way to manage this effectively.

This is one of the power features of Atmos Pro. It helps you stay on top of all drift, rechecks it, let's you control the concurrency of drift, see the drift over time, drill into which stacks or instances are drifting, see when they started to drift.
it can also trigger remediations, or you can "ask ai" why something is drifting, trigger remediation of that drift.
Oh, and it can also create GitHub Issues for the drift, so you can assign it to your team, or to GitHub Copilot, to remediate.

Got it, so deprecated in existing GHAs, added as a pro featureset going forward. Thanks! Appreciate the clarity. We're not currently considering atmos pro, but will note it as a possible option while we look into others 🙂

Understood. Fwiw, here's what the drift looks like.

@Josh Simmonds I will add that you can still accomplish this on GHA just need some custom workflows and actually the new commands they have added has greatly simplify this, I actually create my own custom
TF Drift Detection
workflow and many other thanks to the new cmds they have added I even manage to have a working
Component Upater
workflow. So you can definitely still do it. PS: Atmos Pro is still way simpler and waay nicer hahaha I mention this to say that you can still accomplish it.

As always, where there is a will, there is a way 😃
