It's for notifications about the "Activity" tab on an individual record's layout. Once you toggle "Follow" you'll get notifications about new posts there. (cc @elegant-eve-85294 in case there's another use)

Interesting. I was hoping it was a way we could alert users to new information relevant to them. For example, if a member had a new document ready for signature, it would be nice for them to see a Notification. Or if the value of one of their investments had been updated. Can anyone think of a way we could hack this to work in that manner?

Probably not possible for Stacker notifications at the moment (although hoping the community might surprise me with a method!), but I've been using Zapier to send emails when a particular record gets updated. Not exactly what you're after, but may work for your users.

Yeah, we send lots of email through Zapier and AirTable automations. Just hoped there might be a way to use Stacker too.
