We could theoretically send you an IP, but the problem with that is that the IP can change. Any DNS provider should be able to do a domain rather than an IP. If you haven’t already, it might be worth contacting their support

I did reach out to their support and explain the same about the IP address..but they are insisting that they need the IP address for the A record. So while I'm able to have <http://www.sitename.com|www.<sitename>.com> go to connect.stacker.app, <sitename>.com doesn't

It's not possible to use a CNAME record on the "naked domain name" (the domain name without something like "www"). You always have to use an IP address. It's a DNS limitation and not a limitation of your registrar or DNS provider. What some DNS providers can do is configure a redirect from <sitename.com> to <www.sitename.com>. I've done this on Gandi.net in the past and they even configure a Let's Encrypt SSL certificate on the naked domain name so both HTTP and HTTPS redirects will work properly.

@fierce-cartoon-5332 thanks for the details! Chatgpt gave me a similar answer to the problem😅 but I wasn't sure if it's the right one
Looks like Crazydomains.au cannot do this redirect😐
