Mack sez all the lake campgrounds are booked, so we’re camping up on Bear Mountain – by where the white arches are. It’s a bit exposed, although I think you can tuck into the trees for morning shade. I’m not sure how flat it is, but it’s a pretty big area and we should be able to accommodate all who want to come. BYO shade if you have it!
Looks like it’s actually flatter down by the road, not on top of the hill. Closer to portos and lake too.

omg worst spot ok
it's really charming af up at the very top in the woods, tho!
flat for a bit at this wedding area. Idk if we're allowed to camp at the crossroads there, but I think she'd let us get away with it. Anyway, lots of space and good location (just not a nice spot to hang out, as is neither in civilized lower area nor on the lake)

I asked for a spot to camp by the lake. It was either this or by the gallows, but I don’t think there’s enough flat land there for all of us. Plus it’s super exposed. If you’d rather camp “in civilization” down below, I can ask about that too.

It'll be interesting to use this spot, I really don't how to do use it well. Being in the valley makes it way harder for us to be at all productive, so I'm into this

FYI it's pretty overgrown right now around the wedding platform and its fairly steep in that area (i was there this weekend). the path/road up to bear mountain has been trimmed though, again, not flat. Maybe if you shaded the platform itself and just all slept on cots/air pads it'd be doable and get some morning shade (tho distancing would be hard). camping on the lower area of that road near the crossroads would be flatter, but, as you said, very exposed. You'll def want to bring some shade

Perhaps she would let you camp on the path around the lake itself, nearer to your build site? Though maybe that's undesirable since people will want to walk around the lake?

Good insight! Sounds like we're going to have "camping exposed at the crossroads" plus "people who don't have their own shade hiding at the top of the hill where it's overgrown" which is less than idea but also kind of funny!
Mack won't want us to camp on any road, but partly blocking the footpath around the lake is probably fine. So the spot by Crappy Bridge might be a winner.

I don’t think that area is very big or very flat. Plus it’s right next to a porto poop . It might be better than camping out in the sun for the shade-challenged, but really - get some shade!
