Hello, the updated report (now with a proposed policy list and Jared's answers folded in) and a follow-up essay went live: vit-panchuk.com/writing/the-moneypot-nobody-spends-vs-the-work-nobody-does vit-panchuk.com/reports/solidus Some of the writing is blunt: I have no stake in Solidus, but I tried to help as if I had one.

There’s a small mistake thought… Nebulab took 0$ from open collective funds. 😅 What we did was anticipating money to third party design agencies and / or freelancer that could not bill Solidus via Open Collective, taking all the operational efforts and business risks of that. All the expenses have been approved by the core team and documented with the third party invoices (publicly or in the core team). As a reference, other than bootstrapping the Open Collective funds and being the top donator, we had a team of 1-3 senior dev (depending on the period) full-time, for multiple years on Solidus. Please do some napkins math… That said… the admin is not complete, we are not able to continue working for free on that in this phase. Still, that’s exactly why we build Open Collective fundings, and it’s a matter of finding someone (and/or some AI credits?) willing to continue the work.

@kennyadsl Well, that explains a lot. It was not visible from the public records. Of course, fraud/extraction math was not mathing (which was highlighted both in the report and the essay). I'll update the writing to include the anticipating part.

Updated. The anticipating part has been added to both the report and the essay. But the diagnosis remains the same: please publish those important decisions and updates. The project is healthy and alive, but without publicity, it appears dead to newcomers.
