Are there any benefits to having ones frontpage slider use full images instead of HTML and CSS? Or is it just more common with images because employees are more comfortable with Photoshop? I was always under the impression Google referred markup over images. I've yet to launch my first site though, so I wouldn't have a clue.

you definitely want any text to be actual text, not part of the image
