Hello all. I am facing problem on item creation. Currently I have only one variant on item but I dont want it to be master variant. Is there any way disabling master variant? This is because in future I might have multiple variants and currently on test we found that on creating variant, master variant is auto created and stock items are also created for master variant. It would be great help if any one could suggest

All products must have a master variant, that's part of the Solidus data model.

The master variant is always created, but it doesn’t have to be used for anything. It’s just there so that the product can exist in the system and you can add other variants later if you want them.

Multiple places need a variant, Order items are associated to the master variant of the product does not have any variant, default images for product detail page, default pricing, etc

My problem is that we have stock item created on master variant when there are other variants

Why is that a problem? You can leave those stock items at zero and don't do anything with them. If you really must, you can delete them
