I have been following Solidus for years now and it's honestly one of my favorite RoR projects. I am at a point where I wanna start building an E-commerce platform for a client and I am just wondering what the release of Rails 8 implies for Solidus? Will we have to migrate to Rails 8, complexities, etc.?

Solidus is yet not compatible with Rails 8. If the support arrives, your app needs to be updated. But, depending on your customizations of course, the update itself should be straight forward, because all the hefty lifting already happened in Solidus Core. If your app has a lot of custom code, it's more complex. Having good test coverage is key here.

Rails (like most software) needs to be kept up-to-date. The new changes in Rails 8 (like the new changes to default backends for ActionCable and ActiveJob) don't really affect existing stores upgrading. I expect that upgrades will be relatively painless.
