hey 👋 I’m curious if any work/development is happening around the new EU “Omnibus” directive in relation to presenting the lowest price of the product from the last 30 days? It seems especially tricky with solidus since the “general promotions” (aka 30% off for a category of products, or 15% off with a coupon) seems to be considered a price reduction 🤔 Afaik with the promotion engine such a reduce price is only known after the product is added to a cart which makes recording it and later showing outside of the cart context not possible (aka there are no methods to apply promotion on a product to see what is the new price)

Does it apply to promos or just blanket sales? Sales is relatively easy to handle if you use the sale pricing gem, but with promos you might just have to look at sale data to see what the lowest prices the item sold for in the last thirty days and assume that's good enough.

afaik it applies to promotions if they target “large base of customers” - so if you have a coupon for 15% off on everything and you advertise it on the main page that’s considered a “price reduction” but if you send such coupon to 5 customers via email it’s not
don’t think that looking at just sales data is good enough bc. even if product wasn’t sold you have to record the fact that it could be sold for a reduced price (and what was the price) 🤔
the “2+1” kind of promotions or others that depend on the total amount of the order are not considered price reduction though so it might be the case the if selling in EU you have to restrict yourself to those kind of setups 🤔

Lowest displayed price or lowest sale price? If it's from sales, you can get the lowest from line items table
