did you run bundle lock command locally as suggested before deploying?

What version of Solidus are you installing? The latest version released I think is using rails 6. I use this command to create a new rails project and to add Solidus:
rails _6.1.4_ new shoes_store --skip-javascript --database=postgresql
cd new_shoes_store
bundle add solidus
bin/rails generate solidus:install

For the Heroku demo, I simply clicked the link for the demo in the developers dropdown at https://solidus.io/#
As far as the local install on my mac, I was following the instructions found here, https://guides.solidus.io/developers/getting-started/first-time-installation.html
No idea what you are talking about with bundle lock. Have not been able to get nearly that far with a local install.
Alright. So I'm stupid. New to this and after some research discovered you have to install a second version of ruby rather than use the mac default version.
