👋 Hi everyone! This is my first time on Slack. I joined because I want to discuss with the Solidus team about Discourse, and GNU Taler integrations. My situation is that I'm mostly using Ruby applications and do not want to err towards other languages if I can. So when it comes to selling books online, I'd rather use Solidus, or integrate Solidus into Discourse (which I use daily), and eventually enable Taler payments. How should we proceed with this discussion? Is there a specific channel I should know about?

OK, so let's make this a bit clearer. ### Solidus Integration with Discourse Last December I posted this topic on Discourse Meta that received no attention. So I'm curious about your side of the story: https://meta.discourse.org/t/e-commerce-using-solidus-with-discourse/289686 ### Taler Payments with Solidus [GNU Taler](https://taler.net) is an electronic payment system that has some interesting properties, such as buyer anonymity and seller taxability. All transactions are auditable, so the buyer receives a privacy-preserving proof of payment, while the seller can produce normal accounting for tax authority. The software is GPL/LGPL (depending on the component) free software, and currently running a live experiment in Basel with local currency Netzbon, using CHF. Next year it will become available in the Eurozone for payments in EUR. As part of this [NGI TALER](https://ngi.taler.net) project, as a publisher, I will be selling books using Taler payments. I'd love to use Solidus, and eventually integrate with Discourse, to set up shop. Hey @hellekin (PS), welcome! I’m not sure to completely understand your goal, but Solidus is an open-source platform that you can use to build your own store. Once installed, it’s almost a standard Ruby on Rails application that you can customize as you want. As far as I know, there’s no Discourse integration built for Solidus, so if you need that, you have to build it on your own. Let me know if this helps or you need anything else, cheers.

Hey @hellekin (PS), I did actually skip that part. The framework integration (that I completely forgot) is not open-source, but maybe they are open to that. We can get you in touch with someone on their dev team.

That would be nice, @kennyadsl. Otherwise, what about the GNU Taler integration with Solidus? Would your team be interested in that? Or would you like to advertise the opportunity to your community? If someone wants to pick it up, they could get funded for 5K€ to 50K€ to do it, depending on the scope.
