oh boy… looks nice.. but Solidus Cloud? who owns that? Is that a Nebulab product? Not sure if I’m a fan

It’s not strictly a Nebulab thing. Stakeholders still wholly control OC funds which is distinct from the cloud offering. There will be more to come on this. I am not surprised some in the community aren’t happy with how this has been communicated (myself included) but I urge you to reserve judgement as things get fleshed out a bit more. I’m optimistic that this will be overall a win for Solidus.

Thanks Jared, I’m usually not good with reserving my opinion 😇, curious to hear more. I (we) have witnessed first hand how these initiatives have some side effects that are not (always) positive. I will have an open mind as always, but also not optimistic about this. That being said, love the new branding and the work that’s going into the new admin setup.

Looking forward to seeing the outline on how the revenue model will be played out. Both distribution to partners, lead flow and auditing of all of this as ultimately the Solidus brand is OSS and it must maintain that objective. When can we expect to see this documented and public?

The new site/design does indeed look great. However, similar to the questions above, I am really curious about how Solidus Cloud will play out.

I am not against Cloud offerings for Open Source products. See GitLab and others. I think it can be a good thing for the community. But I DO have lots of questions 🙂 Disclaimer: I am a Solidus core team member and have not be informed nor have I been involved in this process at all

The license hasn't changed on the project itself, so I'm suspicious this might just be a boilerplate t&c for the website that mistakenly is worded such that it claims to apply to Solidus itself.

It should be removed for sure. the boilerplate has real data in there though. owner email….etc. Curious to hear more on the actual plans and assuming the T&C will be removed / updated

That is most definitely boilerplate, sorry for the confusion. Iubenda has a standard preset for “software programs” and apparently it includes that clause. I’ll make sure it gets removed. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is changing in Solidus licensing!
