Yeah, to make sure this is “opt-in”. It not only helps reputation, but this is a requirement from email tools such as Hubspot, whose policy is to allow emails only for opted in users.

Opt-in could be with a CTA that redirects to a URL too. Any diff between that and reply-to-email?

It’s probably just easier for users to reply with a Yes to an email than get redirected. Can’t think of a better reason.

@Shaf@surender nadarajan yep, the benefits on the deliverability side are immense. I once read someone's case study and they got their deliverability close to 100%.
