If you select "Don't index", your page that has the ebook will not be crawled. Also nowadays, google is clever enough to recognise the gated contents and not Index them. The whole objective of gating is to hide the contents for free consumption. So I believe the content will not be crawled.

Simply make it "on index" or exclude the URL by robots.txt

Content inside the ebook won't be crawled by Google but the page on which you're redirecting to download the ebook can be. So, if you exclude the url by robots.txt, that page won't be crawled.

If I make them Index. The content inside the ebook will be crawled - @KP @Chirag Gojaria @Ragini Just to give you more information. The user signs up at abc.com/ebook and after signing up he will be taken to abc.com/snfnf-399458-94994 which will be more of a downloadable file.

Make this abc.com/snfnf-399458-94994 page "onindex" and add this page to disallow in rotobs.txt
