Hi Hema! This is a personal opinion. Number of years don't matter rather the knowledge & willingness to learn does. Things change in SEO every day so the concept of being an “expert” is quite far from reality. Personally interacted with people who have had 2-3x years of experience but fumbled when it came to the very basics. Please ask your friend to trust themselves more, and to learn at every chance they get. To keep going! Put out the results they have achieved because it's not a small feat. And, if an opportunity is putting them down to an extent of causing self doubts, it's simply not worth pursuing it! Good luck to them! :)
