Hmm thanks for ur input. The reason I'm asking this is because my current planned website has lot of animations and we also will have decent number of integration and features like payments etc... And my agency is telling me that it would require additional development cost & time if we go with WordPress managed server. What do you think about that?

@Wilson Lobo when you say WordPress managed server, are you talking about wordpress.com ? If yes, then the agency might be partly right as some plans from WordPress.com have some limitations around plugins that can be installed.

@Wilson Lobo I would also recommend to go with Wordpress.com and spend those hours in custom development instead of the headache of managing the entire webserver and its scaling etc. If you get limited, you can slowly move away but till then you would keep your costs low and only a limited number of parts to manage, kind of like an MVP.

I have my own websites setup on vultr with WordOps and Cloudflare and am pretty happy with it so far. But if you want to take away the headaches of managing the server, you can check wpengine, kinsta or cloudways which do not have the limitations of wordpress.com while saving costs on custom development if plugins already exists.

Cloudways has been really supportive on such special case requirements and their service is also really good… at early stages wouldn't suggest to have it on a server which is managed on our own since it's time taking process
