Kung Fu Panda will always be a much better movie than any James Bond action film. In most James Bond movies, the hero of the story (James bond) is invulnerable. Nothing ever happens to him. And hence there is no internal transformation that he goes through. No character arc whatsoever. Po, however, goes through a deep transformation. The best stories are the ones that take the hero through an inner journey. At the end of the story, the hero is a changed person. When we tell stories, instead of just promising external benefits, we can also talk about the inner transformation that will take place. That makes the story great.
