I read the Bhagavad Gita last year, and this is by far my favorite part. Here, Krishna asks Arjuna to patiently endure both pleasure and pain, or good and bad phases. Many of us have heard the advice about bearing bad times patiently. Any self-help book will teach you that! However, what really catches my attention is the advice of also bearing pleasure (good times) patiently with equal calmness. During good times, there is always a risk of becoming overly excited and losing perspective. When we are happy, we tend to become too excited and short-sighted, leaving us unprepared for future challenges. Bad times can return at any point, and they often do! For business (since we are talking on LinkedIn), this could mean that when we see short-term gains or initial results, we might immediately get too excited and take incorrect decisions. Initially success does not mean that your success will scale proportionally. Good idea to always keep our eyes open! PS - It also fascinates me how these thoughts have come up thousands of years earlier and they are more relevant than ever! https://www.linkedin.com/posts/nilanganray_i-read-the-bhagavad-gita-last-year-and-thi[…]077371121664-ntb0?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
