We wanted to know how Canva did it, so we signed up to it and we learnt their email frequency, their copy style, level of personalization, etc. We saved it up in a single folder for reference.
In reality, if you're sending emails, you'd need to segment your audience according to their:
1. Role
2. Features used
3. Challenges faced/expectations they have from your product
4. Stage (exploring, existing user, past user etc.)
Then, go back and create email sequences for each of these personas. I'd suggest develop your own style that is distinct. And, if you're creating a common piece such as a newsletter make sure you distribute it well.
