I haven't come across anyone that does both in any combination tbh - generally one or the other and even with marketing - there's so much, there are generally specialists based on topic.

Leadership - same issue here - need to be clear on what aspect.
As an eg - and not to sound opportunistic here but I'll use it to make the point.
I've been doing this for a bit on a very specific aspect of leadership i.e. how to build more trust on teams (this is a foundational issue preventing teams from being as high performing as they could be).

There are clearly 100s of things within leadership to tackle but without a better understanding of what exactly you're trying to solve for it's hard to point to any specifics person/resource.

The first 9 months coaching came through my company - Wingify purchased a few coaching packages from PeakPerformer and I was lucky to get one.

Good share! Megalomania is quite commonly seen in founders who build a projection of something they know they aren’t in reality. Rather than working on self awareness and accepting their own incomplete/vulnerable self, I think they build personas which hide their true selves and in turn the company and the values built around them become shitshows

Apologies for the spam everyone. Agree with you that we need a better way to do this. Many of us are doing this for the first time in an industry we have no experience with a tight deadline. We tried a 1-1 outreach for a few days in the beginning but the responses were hard to come by. So to get more attention, we went wide. Not saying that it isn't annoying for some folks. Just presenting some context of why you are seeing a flurry of messages

Good news is that our project ends this week. Bad news is next cohort will start their project in a few weeks :smile:

GrowthX cohort members  - I know you want to ask Folks here because everyone here is a part or has been a part of SaaS industry. I understand you feel you can get lucky at asking and "there is not shame" / "develop a thick skin" kinda push. Get the data run some model and boom. Growth. 

However resist that urge. Be more than just your cohort 

Like <@U031QKGPNRK> said - participate in the community. Contribute. And question your thesis as well - why are you looking at revenue metrics. Is growth all about numbers? Can you really grow basis an excel sheet?

If you really only want metrics and want to chat to someone - research amongst the members / Linkedin who can answer your question. Send them a connection request / DM on Linkedin exactly explaining your request and if they can answer your questions. You might have no replies but the few who will take time and answer will appreciate the approach you have taken. 

Also if you find value and someone does share the data with you , please please try and contribute back to the community. At the very least reach out to the person and share how that data was used or if you are pinging the entire channel , then also tell us what happened post you getting the data. Share the ppt 

One of the things we always ask Folks is to give back the knowledge they have on any topic so as a community we can grow together. 

Interesting how hostile the responses here are from some folks wrt GrowthX (on a generic level) and how everyone from the cohort is being painted with a broad brush because of actions of some folks.

Cautionary note to generalisers, some individual actions are not reflection of entire cohorts of 1000+ people and neither is their way of researching ICP etc.

As for messaging for research, there is a templatised messages shared with cohort members on how to pitch research ask, which is not followed by ‘individuals’ who chose to do it their way.

Agreed with the points of giving back to the community and individuals who share information and in fact it is part of the template shared with researchers to mention the findings will be shared.

So, avoid the generalised resentment and random assumptions from that perspective.

Time and again, these messages flood the community. If it was painted and tainted, we could have simply banned GrowthX or any such asks. We didn't.

I haven't seen your replies before to such threads (I might have missed), but I would assume you must have read the helpful replies in the past.

The generalization is based on multiple data points. Not about individual POVs. Not about a certain person either.

We still didn't delete the questions or banned any of the members posting those questions.

This one is an open community. We encourage counter-opinions. I appreciate you posting this comment - helps us clarify our thoughts as well as think about this more as well.

Agree with a lot of the feedback. Here is a POV, not a defense:
1. We had 3 weeks to deliver the project and had zero background in marketing automation. We did everything we can to find relevant people across all channels. Did we spam a lot of people? Yes. Did we spam only in this community? No. We reached out on LinkedIn, WhatsApp and various channels in our network. That was the only way to reach actual users who could give us useful insights. With just 3 weeks in hand, we, unfortunately, did not have time to add value before seeking value. However, that will change
2. 3 weeks isn't enough time to create a solid business strategy. I don't think anyone is under the delusion that it is. However, the purpose of the project, IMO, is to push us out of our comfort zones to help us learn. Ex. I worked on the paid ads strategy for MoEngage. I have zero background in advertising. Had it not been for GrowthX, I would probably never bother even trying to learn.
3. I agree we did ask before we contributed. We will not be able to share the whole project because it is GrowthX's IP. However, if anyone wants to discuss specific aspects of the project, I'm happy to do so. AMA anything about MoEngage or marketing automation. I'll be happy to share my half baked knowledge :slightly_smiling_face:

Your answer highlights a lot of loopholes in the assignment design. Maybe you should share this thread with the folks at GrowthX. They might take it as a constructive feedback and improve upon the process.

Sorry to hear you didn't make it to top 3. But I am sure you did all that you could in the short time frame.

<@U03R5AA0J74> Congratulations on completing Capstone! Indeed, it is one of the hardest things you can do out there wrt growth in the given period of time. I have heard that from so many folks and experienced it, twice. (Yes, I did it twice!)

It is a sandbox situation that pushes you to develop sharper growth thinking, not just making one aware of the concepts and leaving it at that - retention and application are a thing and Capstone is quite a test for that which exposes and trains you for both. I think of it like a gym where I am coming to build growth muscle.

Ultimately, things are always difficult at first, before they become easier and easier  (think of driving for the first time and then after a few years - system 1 vs system 2 as Daniel Kahneman or Neuroscientists will put it)

Putting yourself in difficult situations, as you rightly said, helps one improve. So I agree with you there that it is super hard and it is designed for a reason that way to help push you. And the only way is up for you given you have gone through that.

P.S. While I can not speak for you and each individual is different, as someone who has done capstone twice and ended up as a demo day finalist both time (the products we worked on had the product &amp; growth teams from the company in the demo day and they validated it and also sought consultation for learning post it), and having mentored many folks since then in GrowthX community on Capstone, I will have to disagree with you wrt it being a short period to create a solid strategy within the constraint (of course it is a constraint and in real world if one were to go in a new job or were to apply in existing role, this will come in super handy). It is possible to create solid strategy if you really apply what has been taught in the class and more importantly are driven to apply. But as you rightly said, boy it is not easy.

Cheers and congratulations once again, there are way too many upsides than downside to finishing capstone and they come in hand-in-hand in my experience.
